Competitor Irons: Background on why our blade irons are called "The Competitor". As we all know players will often look into another players bag to see which iron is being hit. Now you can't be too obvious in looking, but just a peek is okay. Now a former world number one player, known for his great iron play and winner of many majors, said "enough is enough. Lets put the club number on the back of the club and not on the sole of the club as all others have. This will prevent my playing competitors from seeing what I used". The "Competitor" irons and "Dart Thrower" wedges ever since, have the loft on the back of the club.
