Rising Golf Company Signs Twelve Additional Tour Players
February 2003 (Monterey, California) – Feel Golf Company, makers of "The Fastest Growing Wedges on Tour", announced twelve new players have agreed to endorsement deals with the Monterey-based club manufacturer. The players include Sophie Gustafson, Jane Crafter, Suzanne Strudwick, Mitzi Edge, Diane Irvin, Tonya Gill, Becky Morgan, Penny Hammel, Debbie Harmon, Sherri Turner, Loraine Lambert, and Steve Haskins. The recent additions, which include players from a variety of countries and age groups, parallel Feel's existing endorsers in that they represent the best players from around the world.
"Signing this diverse group of top players is a natural step for our organization," said Lee Miller, CEO of Feel Golf. "Feel Golf represents the best players from around the world, because we utilize the advice of top players as well as the latest in material technology in order to develop cutting-edge equipment."
At the head of the women's endorsement class is Sophie Gustafson, a Swedish phenom with three wins on the LPGA Tour and numerous victories overseas. In addition to playing full-time on the LPGA Tour in 2002, Gustafson also managed to play enough tournaments in Europe to win the lowest stroke average title among other accomplishments. Following Gustafson, Sherri Turner of the U.S. is a multiple winner on the LPGA Tour as well as a past #1 money finisher.
The remaining Feel endorsers represent veterans, rising stars, and international players. Suzanne Strudwick ( England ), Becky Morgan ( Wales ), Jane Crafter ( Australia ), and Loraine Lambert ( Australia ) all bring an international flare while Mitzi Edge, Debbie Harmon and Penny Hammel represent U.S. veterans with Tour victories. Americans Tonya Gill and Diane Irvin symbolize rising stars.
PGA Professional Steve Haskins is the latest to sign a Feel endorsement contract. In addition to his two career victories on the Nationwide Tour, Haskins ranked T38th in driving accuracy percentage last year and is expected to continue to shine in 2003.
In addition to the recent player endorsements, Lee Ann Walker-Cooper, a Feel endorser since October 2002, recently won her first tournament with the assistance of Feel clubs. "Changing to Feel wedges has been the best equipment decision I've made," said Walker-Cooper. "I love these wedges--I feel like I can get up and down from anywhere."
Launched in 1985, Feel Golf has grown from a once tiny club manufacturer into a cutting-edge competitor. Utilizing testing knowledge and input from the world's best golfers, CEO Lee Miller has been able to produce the most player-sensitive clubs in golf, and in the process secured unpaid player endorsements as well as glowing industry reviews. The company is based in Monterey, California, home of the famed Pebble Beach Golf Links.
